PIPS is a small and friendly department which provides opportunities for individual attention. Our staff bring with them international quality research and outstanding teaching expertise demonstrated by an “excellent” teaching quality rating from the Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency, a “5” in the Research Assessment Exercise, and many books, articles and research grants. Some of our staff also have experience as overseas students themselves and all the staff have got considerable international experience. You will be in good hands with us.
We welcome non-UK students for the fresh insights which they bring and will do our best to help you. At UniS English language courses are offered to overseas students guiding them through intensive programs of study skills, essay writing techniques, reading and research methods, listening and note-taking, seminar skills and more. After all, graduating from a degree course in a British university is effectively 2 qualifications in one, as fluency in English is an asset in its own right.
